Pink Devil is an original character that I created. I created these images for a character design project in an Illustration Techniques class at Cuyahoga Community College.

Her full name is Seraphina Zephorus. She is a superhero demon who can control fire. She was born of The Devil Himself and an elemental creature who laid eggs causing Seraphina to have many siblings, each with their own elemental ability. Seraphina was bullied to tortured by her siblings for her good nature; shunned for only wanting to help and not hurt anything. One day she was able to escape for her hellish home into the human realm where she found herself in a large, frantic city in need of protecting. As a normal "human" girl she works at a bookstore and rents an apartment. As a superhero, she protects the innocent and helps out in any way she can. But will her demonic past come back to haunt her in the present?

Showing Different Emotions

This is a neutral look, when she is relaxing. Though this is a more neutral look, she never stops smiling.

This is an angry look. I wanted to show her getting fired up. Her eyes and hair darken. Her eyes almost look dragon like and her hair flies up in a fiery curl.

This is Seraphina happy. Her cheeks are puffed and she's blushing a bit. She's pretty adorable.

Different Views of a Hero

A front view in her full superhero costume. Her wings are a very light pink with darker ligaments. She also has two gems, one on her top on one on her belt. Each siblings has some sort of special gem representing their life force and power. Seraphina has two.

A side view. The more yellow pieces are bones from creatures. Though she has various differences in size from a front view, things are actually a lot smaller which I tried to portray in this illustration.

Most of her hair covers the back view. She is actually hiding some scars from her childhood behind that lovely hair. I made sure that each view was in the same pose to make this cohesive.

The Many Sides of Pink Devil

This is Seraphina doing different acts. From jump dodging to jogging, sleeping to working at the bookstore. She isn't always fighting crime. She really likes to read to teach herself more of the human world. Especially when it comes to technology, which isn't a strong suit of hers.

Process Sketches

During the process of created Seraphina, I knew I wanted someone who was happy and goofy, but still had that demonic aura around her. Her main hero suit is a one piece with straps. The belt and other objects that are colored the same are actual bone that was created while she was still at home in hell. I practiced sketching her eyes, hair and different armor pieces. I drew an original piece before these and went off of that to create a similar but new design. After Sketching out my ideas for this project I took them into Adobe Illustrator to trace over them with line work and then into Photoshop to color.
